effective personal networks

2. If someone cannot respond to a request for service or information they pass the request on to others in their network.
3. The ability to respond to your requests actually exists in the network. Most of us would say our networks handle attribute one pretty well. I suspect that attribute number two is not as common (we may fool ourselves into thinking it is though). The third attribute is the most critical and the hardest one to identify. If you want networking to work for you (and for the members of your network!) start thinking about the requests you have and receive, look at your network in relation to them, and ask yourself if your network possesses the three key attributes in relation to those requests.
